Wow, that just makes me want to reply straight away……….

In the 23rd Century, the world will be perfect, everyone enjoys pleasure and happiness. The one drawback is that when they reach the age of 30, they have to die. Well that and everyone’s name has a number after it….

Micharl York, Richard Jordan and Jenny Agutter star in this 1976 science fiction movie about a utopia and the truth behind it. York plays Logan 5, a sandman or modern day policeman, who along with Jordan as Francis 7, who stop those who choose to avoid dying at 30. He meets Jessica 6 and together, the two look for the mystical place named Sanctuary, the place where all runners (those who wish to avoid dying) want to run to.

Although the city scape miniatures look, well like miniatures, the over-all appearance of the movie isn’t bad. It looks good if a little cheap. The plot however makes up for it. The story is well paced and don’t confuse the watcher. I should point out that this is also another movie that contains, wait for it, because my dad really liked her, Jenny Agutter naked. That in itself makes the movie a must see.

This isn’t a bad movie, especially compared to some of the real stinkers out there and considering that this was made before the big sci fi boom of the late 70s, most enjoyable. With talk of a remake happening, it will be interesting to see if it is possible to improve on a pretty good movie.
