Lullaby baby
With children its good to have a routine, which sucks when the parents don't have one. 7:00, its time to calm down, turn down the lights, and start to get ready to sleep. We have a lullaby CD with some songs on it that are soothing but yet, somehow, babyish. A-ha! No, not the Norwegian super group. Let me connect my computer to the TV, bring up Winamp loaded of course with the greatest visualisation around (Geiss II) and then find some songs that are suitable for relaxing children. Below is the current list. Any suggestions?

Book Review – Exceptional Clearance – William J. Caunitz
A serial killer who rips out the throat of his female victims. A cop brought back in from the outside. Sex, violence, its all here in a great thriller by the late William J. Caunitz.
The writing style is very similar to John Sandford’s and so is the main character to Sandford’s hero, Lucas Davenport. Really enjoyed it, from start to finish, even though the twist as a little obvious.
I’ll be looking for his other books (since he isn’t going to write any new ones)
Growing Old
Each time I look in the mirror, I feel as if I am staring old age in the face. Having children does this to you. I now feel as old as my father was when he was my age. Try wrapping you head about that statement!
I look in the mirror and I notice that I seem to have hair that is either really reflective of the light, or is going grey. I already have flecks (I like the sound of that) of grey/white in my beard which I wear since my middle age spread found its way to my chin(s). Its nice to have a defined chin, they tell me anyway. I swear my belt is no tighter than before yet I seem to have a slight (yeah right) overhang where my gut must be full of lunch, or perhaps I am retaining water?
Its funny but my hands still look the same as they always have to me. They don't seem to age at all. Unlike body hair which grows in more places the old you get. I can gross myself out just by having a shower somedays! I keep wondering if I should platt my backhair or let it grow wild like poison ivy. I could shave it but I can't help imagine what the stubble would feel like!
As you get older, joints are no longer something to share, but something that sound like a breakfast cereal as they snap, crackle and pop each time you move off the sofa to reach for the remote control or the bag of chips that someone left open within your reach. Ah, growing old is a wonderful thing but I wish I could just read about it instead!
Combination Cereals
Cereal foods are a great snack, not just at breakfast. But what happens when your cornflakes or shreddies just don't hit the mark?
You mix it up a bit. By combining a couple or more cereals, you create something that is tailored to your exact needs.
The whole thing started when cereal companies began adding fruit and nuts to their standard fare of breakfast food. Using the cereal as a base, added fruit gave a more satisfying taste. Same with nuts or honey. But what if you just want cereal?
Last night's snack was the current favourite of combinations.
2 Wheetabix to begin with at the bottom of the bowl, a handful of corn ball type things (don't know the name but they taste good) and finished it off with a topping of corn flakes. Pour on the milk and drizzle with sugar for that sweet sweet taste and there you have it. A cereal that fills you up, takes ages to eat and isn't chocolate or pizza!!
